I’ve been dipping my toe in the waters of website creation. I haven’t yet downloaded the free trial for Dreamweaver because, well, the due date is more than 7 days away. However, I really don’t feel like I can leave all the work to be done in a week so I’ve been having a look at what else is out there. I found BlueGrifffon.

Now, I haven’t really done much, but even with the water-wings, it’s kind of fun. I do have to keep reminding myself that I’m using the free version, which seems to assume you have no right to help. But there are a lot of free templates available (and not just for BlueGriffon). If you open a template and then select the dual-view, you can see the actual code which I find helpful.
I have to say, I’m likely making all kinds of mistakes, but isn’t that what we’re here for? My experience with MadCap Flare did nothing to encourage me to pursue that as an option, though I did discover I can edit the files I created in Flare in BlueGriffon, so that’s cool. I will probably have a look at Dreamweaver as well but I hope that what I’m picking up by playing with the griffon will help.
Update: I had fun with Blue Griffon, but it ultimately made more sense to use WordPress. No learning is ever wasted, though, right?
